This year, Jehovah's Witnesses (SI) celebrate Christ's death on April 14 – the event begins after sunset, the Portal-Credo.Ru correspondent was told in the press service of the SI Management Center in Russia.
The feast of the remembrance of Christ's death is an annual event that followers of the SI religion celebrate every year according to the lunar calendar in March-April. Often it falls on the days of Holy Week according to the Orthodox calendar, as it happened this year. At the meeting, which lasts about one hour, believers read the corresponding texts from the Gospels, and also pass bread and wine to each other, symbolizing the body and blood of Christ. Usually the entrance to such Parties is free for everyone.
Since Jehovah's Witnesses consider this meeting the most important in their religious life, as a rule, the largest number of followers of this religion gather. Thus, according to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Yearbook 2014, last year, March 26, 283,221 people gathered in Russia for the Memorial, and this number was 19,241,252 people around the world.
