A single picket against the criminal prosecution of followers of the religious organization "Jehovah's Witnesses" was held April 3 in Khabarovsk, an activist of the Libertarian Party of Russia (DM), Artem Mozgov. As reported by "Sibir.Realii", he went out into the street with a poster depicting the crucified Jesus Christ and the inscription: "He died for the faith. They are sitting for her."
The activist said that his picket is trying to draw attention to human rights in Russia. He is against the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are being arrested and tortured. "This is happening in a country in which freedom of conscience and religion is spelled out. It turns out that our Constitution is not a law for law enforcement agencies, since they are so disregard for it," said Mozgov, who is not a representative of a religious organization.
According to the site of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, in total in the country at least 37 people were sent to prisons (SIZO or ITT), 21 of them are in SIZO, the rest of the preventive measure was relaxed. The Memorial Human Rights Center recognized as political prisoners 29 supporters of the religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses accused of extremism, and called for their immediate release.
As is known, on April 20, 2017, the Supreme Court of Russia issued a decision recognizing the Administrative Center of Jehovah's Witnesses and its "structural units" (in fact, these are 395 local religious organizations) as an extremist organization.
