In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, fighters of the SOBR of the Russian Guard on October 20 surrounded a camp site near Norilsk with fifty members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses community (a recognized extremist and banned organization). Some were taken away for interrogation, representatives of the denomination say.
A source of “Taigi.Info” in law enforcement agencies confirmed this.In the morning, as believers write, masked special forces burst into the building and demanded to hand in phones and tablets. Searches were carried out in the houses of five of them before interrogation – “Bibles, computers, tablets and telephones were taken from believers.”Investigators asked them if they were truly followers of Jehovah’s Witnesses and how their community was built.
According to another source of Taigi.Info, the Russia is investigating the case against the leader of the community of believers. Most likely, he was charged with “activities of an extremist organization” (Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code) – it was under this article that believers were prosecuted after the ban of “Jehovah’s Witnesses” by the Supreme Court in 2017.
