Chicken of Ukrainian origin will enter the markets of the European Union in double size. This was made possible through the signing of an agreement.
Ukraine and the European Union signed an agreement, the terms of which are to increase quotas for the import of chicken into the EU countries for Ukrainian suppliers. Quotas will increase by two and a half times, and growth will not be an instantaneous thing, it will occur in stages. It is noteworthy that the export of Ukrainian chicken does not provide for the payment of duties.
According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the agreement was signed yesterday, July 30. At the moment, this document has not yet been put into official circulation – in order for it to enter into force, it must be approved and signed by the governments of both states.
It is worth mentioning that the Ukrainian Republic is one of the largest producers of chicken products for the European market. Holland buys most of the meat of this bird – last year the country acquired over one hundred and twelve million dollars of Ukrainian chicken. The European Union purchases the most expensive chicken varieties from Ukrainians, although, in turn, it sells cheaper chicken products to other countries. In general, about fourteen and a half million tons of products are produced in the EU countries. This allows the European Union to take third place in the world in chicken production, after the United States of America and Brazil.
In addition, the Ukrainian authorities emphasized that, in addition to exported chicken products to the EU countries, the state, in general, increased the sales of chicken by thirty percent.
